George Booth

Reader in Theoretical Physics, King’s College London

He works on a broad range of numerical electronic structure and quantum information theory. This spans from quantum chemistry to applications of machine learning in this domain, developing and popularising a number of methods in correlated electron simulation. In addition, the Co-I has worked on the development and application of a number of NISQ algorithms in the domain of electronic structure theory, including beyond ground-state quantum variational algorithms [Chen 2021], and is an author of a recent extensive 128 page review and perspective of VQE algorithms in electronic structure [Tilly 2022]. He is on the scientific steering board of a quantum computing start-up (Rahko Ltd), and was awarded an Innovate UK feasibility grant along with them for the investigation of commercial possibilities of embedded VQE algorithms.
