Raul Garcia-Patron Sanchez (Senior Lecturer since 2020) has background on quantum communication and quantum information on photonic systems. His recent research focus on the fundamental limitations that error impose to quantum computation and designing rigorous techniques to benchmark quantum advantage. He has published over 40 research articles in high impact journals, including Nature Physics, Nature Photonics, Review of Modern Physics, and 2 peer-reviewed talks at QIP, the main conference in quantum informatics. He was Humboldt and Marie-Curie Fellow. He currently sits in the editorial board of Quantum, an open-access and community-run journal, and has served in program committees of mayor conferences in quantum informatics, such as QIP and TQC. Before moving to the UK in 2020, he was board member of WIC an EE professional organization of the Benelux. He has also attracted over £1M+ in founding, including an Incentive grant for scientific research – MIS from the Belgium FNRS, equivalent to EPSRC Early Career Fellowship.
