Tobias Grosser is a Reader in Compiler and Runtime Systems at the University of Edinburgh. As an advocate for open-source-focused research, he demonstrated with Polly the benefits of polyhedral loop optimisations on low-level compiler IRs, and seeded with his research the adoption of modern compiler technology for hardware design automation, quantum IRs, and stencil computations in computational science. Tobias was awarded a Google PhD Fellowship for his research at École Normale Supérieure in Paris and a Swiss National Science Foundation Ambizion Career Award in support of his research at ETH Zurich. His work was also supported by several EPSRC, UKRI, and EU grants.
