Aleks Kissinger

Associate Professor of Quantum Computing, University of Oxford

He has ten years of research experience and over 50 publications in quantum computation, automated reasoning, graph rewriting, and categorical algebra. He is the co-author of Picturing Quantum Processes, a pioneering book in the field of diagrammatic reasoning for quantum theory, which has been translated into 3 languages and cited over 500 times (Google Scholar, Jan 2023). He is PI for the project Automated quantum circuit transformations for optimisation and fault tolerance (US Airforce Office of Scientific Research, £160K) and is Oxford PI for the 14-site consortium on the Quantum Information Structure of Spacetime (John Templeton Foundation, £3.75M). He has served on the QuantumNL national strategic board for quantum computing in the Netherlands, currently serves on two editorial boards (Compositionality and Springer Foundations of Physics), is on the advisory board for the International Foundation for AI in Quantum Theory (https://www.inaiqt.com), and is a member of the International Foundation for Information Processing (IFIP) Working Group WG1.11/2.17 on Foundations of Quantum Computing.
