Chris Barrett

Post-doctoral Research Associate - RoaRQ, University of Oxford (Inv 004)

Chris Barrett is a post-doctoral researcher working with Dr. Aleks Kissinger in the Quantum Group in the Dept. of Computer Science at the University of Oxford. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Computer Science, but his original background was in pure mathematics. His previous research was in the area of type theory and programming language semantics, with a particular interest in designing calculi and type systems for computational effects, including for quantum computation. At RoarQ, he hopes to produce better quantum compilers by extending the ZX-calculus model of quantum computation with an error model based on quantitative equational theories.
