Zhenyu Cai obtained his BA and MSci at Cambridge, and then moved to Oxford for his DPhil. He joined St John’s College, Oxford as a Junior Research Fellow in Physics in the autumn of 2020. He is an expert in the nascent field of quantum error mitigation with several key works in the area, and has recently led the first comprehensive review on the topic. He also works on practical implementations of quantum error correction and mitigation, with the goals of overcoming actual hardware constraints and targeting some of the most dangerous errors within the given hardware (especially silicon quantum platforms).
